Summer may not be the best season to consume lots of food, and certainly not the heavy kind, but we all know that swimming in the sea makes us hungry, especially children. Ιf you are planning to spend several hours by the sea do not forget to bring along towels, umbrellas and sun lotion, many snacks for the kids that will be starving after playing and swimming in the sea. - Cereal bars
They are easy and quick to make and they are the best snack for the beach. You will need 2 cups of oatmeal, half a cup of quinoa, half a tablespoon of brown sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 3 teaspoons of sunflower oil and 1/4 cup of honey. For the execution, mix the oatmeal with the quinoa, sugar and cinnamon. Heat up the sunflower oil together with the honey to create a mixture. Mix the two mixtures together. Place the final mixture in a pan with baking paper on. Press the surface of the mixture and bake in a preheated oven at 160 degrees for 25 minutes. Remove from the oven, allow to cool and cut into equal pieces. The result will be a snack that is perfectly suitable at the beach, a light and healthy snack!
- Vegetable chips
They are the ultimate summer snack! You will need: beets, carrots, pumpkins, potatoes (or whatever vegetables you prefer), salt, pepper and olive oil. If you use beets, add rosemary and crushed garlic. If you choose potatoes, add paprika. Chop the vegetables in equal pieces. Dip them in the special mixture you’ve made for each one and then put them on a baking pan with baking paper on. And, yes, they are delicious!
- Bread with feta and yogurt
Another perfect snack for summertime and especially for the beach! You will need: low fat yogurt 2% (one package), sunflower oil (one cup), half a tablespoon of salt, 500 grams of self-rising flour, 1/4 kg of crushed feta cheese and 2 eggs. Beat the eggs and add yogurt, salt, feta, oil and flour. Stir well, and shape the bread pieces in the desirable size. Put them in the oven on baking paper and bake them using the fan setting at 180 degrees.
- Fruits, vegetables, breadsticks, sandwiches.
Along with all the above, take with you as many summer fruits as possible choose between apricots, nectarines, peaches, but also include a sliced watermelon and some melon. Store them in a portable mini fridge to remain cool and fresh!You can also bring vegetables, such as carrots and cucumbers, remember to cut them into sticks. Of course, sandwiches is a great overall snack, use the ingredients you prefer: cheese, cold cuts, lettuce, tomato. Bon appetit!
