- ½ cup of warm water
- ½ cup of warm milk
- 3 ½ cups of all purpose flour
- 1 sachet of dry yeast
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons butter + some more to spread
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
In a large bowl, put the water, the sugar and the dry yeast. Whisk them shortly, cover the bowl with a clean towel and let them rest for 10 minutes.
Then add all the remaining ingredients and knead with your hands. Cover the bowl with the towel and let the dough to rise for approximately 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into 12 equal parts and shape them to small balls.
Place them in a lightly greased ovenproof pan, leaving some space between them. Brush them with some melted butter, and if desired, sprinkle with some seeds (i.e. sesame, flax seeds, poppy seeds, etc). Cover them again with the towel and let the rolls rise, in a warm place, for about 30 minutes. Bake the bread rolls at a preheated, at 190 degrees, oven for approximately 20 minutes or until they get golden brown. Once they come out of the over, brush them with some more butter and enjoy!
