Taramosalata (fish roe salad)

In Greek culinary tradition, we have plenty of creamy appetizers that perfectly escort a glass of ouzo and some fresh bread rolls. Taramosalata (fish roe salad) is one of those and is so delicious, yet very easy to prepare. Give it a try and you will absolutely love it. A bite of the Aegean sea on your plate!

Ingredients

  • 130 grams white fish roe
  • 300 grams whole grain bread
  • 1 medium onion
  • 150 ml olive oil
  • Juice of one lemon

 

In a bowl, soak the bread in water. Use your hands to drain it well. Put all the ingredients in the food processor’s bowl and blend well until you get a creamy texture of the fish roe salad. If required, add 1-2 tablespoons of water.
